"But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body." 2 Corinthians 4:7-10 (New International Version)
Some days are harder than others. If you are having one of those days, I invite you to listen to the words of this song by Selah. Nicol and I first heard this song at a youth camp (Hiawatha in Eckerman, MI) when our family was on furlough. We sang it over and over again that summer. Later she recorded it with our brother, Todd, and Allan Hall. We're in a marathon, girlfriends, not a sprint. One day, we will cross that finish line, maybe with bloodied knees and gasping for air, but it will be worth it!! Heaven and all its glory will be ours for eternity. Jesus and our heavenly Father will be there to welcome us. They will wipe away all tears. No more death, no more hunger, no more pain or suffering ever again. Let's get our second wind and keep going! The rewards are going to be more than we can fathom.
Press On (Dan Burgess)
When the valley is deep When the mountain is steepWhen the body is weary When we stumble and fall When the choices are hard When we're battered and scarred When we've spent our resources When we've given our all
Chorus: In Jesus' name, we press on In Jesus' name, we press on Dear Lord, with the prize Clear before our eyes We find the strength to press on
