"How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "Since I am a virgin." The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even your relative Elizabeth is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month. For nothing is impossible with God."
Hello. You have unwittingly fallen into my trap. This is Rob. My beloved is out tonight meeting with her web designer, giving me the perfect opportunity of hijacking her blog.
Ha! Ha! HAAAAA!
As many of you know, Shawn and I as well as her parents have a fixation and are completely in love with a certain version of the bible. It is The One Year Chronological Bible (New International Version) published by Tyndale.
It is so thrilling to live each day and open up the Bible to read in chronological fashion the wonders and mysteries of God.
Recently, our family read the story of Esther. In our Bibles it appeared from September 13 -15. If you haven't read this magnificent book of the Bible in some time I encourage you to take time and read the 10 short chapters.
In this book we read about the diabolical scheme of Haman to rid the earth of the Jews because of the refusal of a single Jew (Mordecai) to bow before his presence. Haman caused the ruler to sign a decree to permit the mass execution of the Jews on a certain day eleven months hence.
And so we come face to face with the power of God. For as we find, within days of his Saints falling before their Maker through fasting and prayer, the irrevocable decree sealed by the royal signet ring of the King of Media and Persia (a land stretching from India to Northern Africa) was reversed, the jews were saved, and the enemies who desired their destruction were themselves destroyed.
So, what can we learn of this? How does this apply to us?
That same God surrounds our every thought and prayer. Desiring to make a way out of the dire circumstances that we find ourselves in.
Perhaps you are struggling to make ends meet. Perhaps you are concerned about the path of your children. Perhaps you are coming to the realization that age is swiftly overtaking you and some of your most precious dreams seem unattainable? Perhaps you find yourself older by years than when you expected to be married or have children?
Let us never forget Our Great and Awesome God who thrives to make things Unimpossible! He is the One who desires more than anything to hear your prayer. Know that they are precious to Him. God bless you this evening and today.
Your Brother in Christ, Rob
